7 Affiliate Marketing Tips Without Which It Means Nonsense

In our last post, we discussed about internet marketing. And today we will understand affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing can be simply explained as a method of earning where you get a commission by selling and  promoting someone else’ goods or services. But unfortunately, getting a complete control over this method is not that easy. One needs to work really hard if he/she is serious about making a living through it. You need to consider a number of things to decide whether this type will suit your blog or website or not. Also, you can’t start earning from it right away if you are a beginner; later in this post we will see why it is so. Many people prefer Adsense and other advertisement methods to increase their income, because affiliate marketing has some risks if not understood and applied wisely. Without the following fundamental 7 tips you can never expect to make money as Affiliate.
We also published hot discussion based topics on:

1. What to promote?

As I have said, it is a method where you sell other peoples’ goods; you might be thinking what good to promote? Well the approach is not that narrower. You have a vast space to find out where you should go. If you have a blog, you can affiliate your blog with the advertisers and you are paid per action… the action can be as simple as signing up or even rating a post. Sometimes it is about how many goods are sold, and you are paid per sale. The payment is pre decided as a percentage of revenue generated. For example, if you are recommending a download/ buy link of an e-book to your friend and he buys it; you are paid. If you have a large group of friends on social networks like face book, twitter and Google plus; you can recommend a web page or upload a video. Well of course, everyone does not get paid; you need to sign up and complete the formalities to be an approved affiliate.

2. Affiliate Marketing via your blog:

The best way to do affiliate marketing is setting up your own blog. Interact with the readers and build a relationship with them. This relationship will give you many loyal readerships that will come to your blog and most probably spread your word too. The larger social network and popularity you have, greater are the chances of success.
Note: For higher sales, you must work hard to increase your blog readership and Traffic. Choose a product that is relevant to your website topic. Don't just pick any product blindly.

3. Understand your Audience:

Before you present any product in front of customer; it’s always a good practice to understand what they want. When you are in a regular interaction with your readers you are supposed to find out what are their interests, likes and dislikes. Not only is this but it also important to know if they have ‘buying mood’ or not. And of course you will promote what interests your readers.

4. Create a Need:

Yes, to promote your business it is sometimes important to make people feel that they had been living without a basic commodity. Whatever you are presenting is the thing, they were looking for. And now it is just impossible for them to avoid themselves from buying it.

5. Mesmerize them to act:

When you have understood your audience; you have created a need; what stops you to mesmerize them? Engage your readership in a way that they act according to your directions? Of course it requires good communication skills.

6. Build a trustworthy relationship:

My above said tips do not encourage any misdeed. Remember, honesty is the best policy. Even if you are able to make some money by recommending low quality products and services; you will suffer a lot. You will lose your readerships and of course high quality brands may give a chance to new entries but they can’t waste their money, doing business with those who have lost their repute.

7. Be selective:

It is not always about making maximum money. You should be selective to recommend reliable products and services. Secondly, you can’t market everything on your niche blog. If you are a techie, you are not supposed to sell kitchen appliances. Stay relevant and be patient.

If you are unable to generate revenue in the beginning, don’t lose heart. Continue your hard work. May be, you will need to change the way you sell products but you should never compromise on the quality of your blog. It can bring you back to zero.

Why Affiliate Marketing is better than Google Adsense?

This is a response post by Rafay Baloch to Hassam's post on Why you should never blog on Hacking?

Affiliate-Marketing Vs Google AdsenseAdSense is a very popular and widely known PPC network. It is how Google makes most of its income. AdSense has proven to be one of the highest paying ad networks, therefore a lot of bloggers and webmasters have been attracted by AdSense over the past few years. However the biggest mistake (in my opinion) most of the bloggers and webmasters commit is when they make AdSense as their main source of revenue, leaving themselves at the mercy of Google.

Last month AdSense banned more than 90% of the Pakistani publishers, due to the massive amount of click frauds by Pakistani Bloggers, Only 10% of the bloggers were doing click fraud and as a result of this the rest of 80% suffered badly. I was also the victim of the ban. It was a huge shock to those who has kept AdSense as their major source of income.

The Reason Why I Survived?

Well the answer is simple, I don't rely on AdSense, AdSense just brought 10% of my income, So I was really not worried if there was no adsense at all, However on the other hand the bloggers whose 90% of income was made through adsense lost every thing.

Affiliate Marketing

This post is not solely about the comparison b/w Adsense and Affiliate Marketing, However this post is more targeted towards the importance of affiliate marketing. So What is Affiliate Marketing?
affiliate_marketing Cycle
In simpler words an Affiliate Marketing means Cost per action, You earn an affiliate commission based on the action of the user. For Example: If a user completes a survey, You get a commission (Which b/w is known as Cost per lead, It's a type of affiliate marketing), If a user buys a product, You get a commission (Which is an example of traditional affiliate marketing.

SIX FIGURE BLOGGERS:

I have been closely analyzing the strategies of famous internet marketers and affiliate marketers such as John chow, ZacJohnson etc,  And most of their money is made by the combination of the two things, EMAIL MARKETING + AFFILIATE MARKETING. Let's take an example of ZacJohnson, He runs a blog zacjohnson, He makes SixFigure income by just Affiliate marketing, As a reason of which he is  widely known as Six Figure Affiliate Blogger.

Six Figure Bloggers Strategy:

Here is the strategy which almost every six figure affiliate bloggers use:
1. Choose A Target Audience.
2. Choose A Targeted Product.
3. Build An Email List with target audience.
4. Start Selling.
My Personal Opinion About Adsense Vs Affiliate Marketing:
"Choosing Adsense over affiliate marketing is just like trading dollars for pennies".

My Advice To Newbie Bloggers:

My advice to newbie bloggers is not restrict your self to only one source of income, Instead you create multiples sources of your income, So if one goes down, the other one is there to backup, In my upcoming guest posts, I will talk more about affiliate marketing and direct Ads, Types Of affiliate Marketing, Some Case Studies, Best affiliate marketing networks etc.
If you have any questions feel free to comment.

I would indeed agree on the points you mentioned pal. Keeping multiple sources of income is far better than keeping the income sources fixed and limited. You never know which one plays well at the end of the day unless you try different Ad campaigns set by you and track their performance.

What Affiliate product ideas can you give for MBT? How can we increase sales of that product? Now that indeed will help a lot of people to better understand how products can be chosen for a particular niche.

BTW I would also agree to what hassam said related to Google Adsense on Blogs with hacking as the theme topic. Since Adsense is the biggest Ad network online, therefore absense of such network is surely a Doom to some extent because it is responsible for 90% of earning for many probloggers like shoemoney, labnol and sites like DIGG. But I would still agree that you can earn a lot more with Affiliate marketing if applied correctly.

I'm not agree with it. Affiliate marketing is good but it's not better than ad-sense.Actually you can't compare this two policy. It have some similarity but the way of working is too different.
